LESSON PLAN  1 hour.
1.    Say “Hello” to each child as they come in and show them where to sit.
a.    Sit children on the floor in a tight circle.
b.    Have a puppet or toy and introduce it as Pedro (or other obvious name).
c.    Tell them your name and get them to practise (Turn it into a chant)

d.    and ask them their names (My name is ……..What’s your name?)
You practise their names with them, and then stick a label on their jumpers with their name.
2.    Spread flashcards on the floor and elicit to see if they know any colours.
Touch each card and say the colour ( or elicit) and get them to repeat.
Get them to find the colours in the classroom, or on their clothes as you go along.
Now say a colour and they have to touch (say a name if you have a big class)

3.    Choose one colour  - red is good to start (have *photocopies prepared with the name printed on the
bottom and a big empty circle to colour in) see who has that colour on their clothes. Give them crayons of the colour you have chosen and ask them to colour the circle red.

If you have access to Internet https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1jv0Gx_q_OU  Just play the first part (RED) and then get them to join in the chorus. You can add a bit more each class.

This is all the colours and maybe a bit long.
4.    Repeat activity 2 again.
5.    Read a story. Point to the colours on the pages, especially RED.
6.    Give out folders and put a sticker with their name. Show them the song again while you do this, or do it ready for next week.
Find a “Goodbye song” to play at the end of every lesson.
