SPRING TERM
27th January 2015
Find Out 3 has material you can use for Carnival on page 20 of the Student’s book.
I calculate that your classes now cope with “have you got a…….”/I haven’t got , I like, don’t like, and food. Now is the time to build a restaurant/shopping dialogue . (if you’re not sure how to build a dialogue, let me know). Use as much realia as possible, and video the final product.
Something along the lines of …………….
A: is the shopkeeper/waiter(ess) and B: is the customer
A: (Good)morning.
B: (Good)morning. Have you got a ………………?
A: No, I haven’t, but I’ve got ………………………….
B: Urg ! I don’t like ………………………….
A: I’ve got……………………and ………………………………..
B: No, I don’t want……………………….. I want………………………………
A: But this is a chemist’s !
B: Oh, no ! I’m sorry.

Food/ Like & don’t like – a game to play with food, but you need enough flashcards of food for each person in the class.
· Arrange the class in a circle.
· Make sure everyone knows how to say all the words.
· Student 1 says the name of one of the other’s flashcards ie:hamburger three times, and the second student has to say “hamburger” once before Student 1 has said it three times.
· This is actually more difficult than you would imagine, as it means all kids have to concentrate all the time.
· TIP: Give longer words to weaker kids. (they have longer to say it) – egg is VERY difficult !!!!
You can also go to http://genkienglish.net/doyoulike.htm where you can find some more ideas, but try to ignore the bad ones, especially an English class in Japanese on video !!!!
There is a video on this website that combines animals and food @
Another idea, which isn’t really an idea, but a reminder. You can use like and don’t like with things other than food !!!
