· The Preposition song on You Tube (on, in, under, above, below, in front of, behind )
· Where is the Spider ? on YouTube (by, in, on, under)
This can be accompanied by the “Where’s the spider” game. One child goes out, the others hide the spider and when the other child comes in they ask “Where’s the spider?” and the child that has gone out asks.
“Is the spider in the cupboard?”
“ Is the spider under the table ?”
“ Is the spider by the window ?”
“ Is the spider on the book ?”
For prepositions of place - use Cuisinaire rods (there are some onsite - somewhere !) and do a dictation. Give each child a set of about five colours (all have the same colours).
Start by saying "Put the red one on the table", then dictate where to put the others
eg. put the yellow one behind the red one. Put the green one in front of the red one (always in relation to the student, not the teacher)
You have Halloween material in the Beep 2 text book.
On the bcnprimary.pbworks.com site you have a Halloween card. Halloween card.jpeg

While you are teaching the alphabet to your class you can teach each child to spell their own name, and get them to do it automatically and quickly (but comprehensible), then have a competition to see who does it the best.
There’s a nice alphabet song at
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ycnPbp_CrVg and they actually say “zed” and another one that you can combine with counting, but they say “zee” (not really a big problem if you say “zed” then that is what they will learn anyway.
You have lots and lots of material on LearnEnglishKids for clothes vocabulary and Present Continuous (I’m wearing etc.)
There is Teddy dresser, Match the Kit, Dressing myself, Find the pairs (Memory), Winter clothes, Paint the words, Hangman and two more word games.
A song for clothes on Super Simple Songs can be found at
At Super Simple Learning you have a blog with lots of advice and ideas for YLs.
